Ch24 Inside the parlor

Ciel and Sebastian visit Undertaker.

The funeral parlor's outward appearance is a tall building with a rectangular-shaped sign on its front, which reads "Undertaker". The purple sign is embellished with a yellow lining and a skull. Cobwebs are shown on the projecting corner of the building. Along the front of the funeral parlor, there lies a coffin, a flag and tombs.

The interior of the funeral parlor consists of a decent-sized room cluttered with coffins, often used as seats.[1] Shelves that hold various assortments line the inside walls.

Overview[]

Funeral parlors or homes perform services in accordance with the wishes of families and the deceased. The funeral parlor often takes care of the necessary paperwork, permits, and other details, such as making arrangements with the cemetery, and providing obituaries to the news media.[2]

Funeral Director[]

The funeral director (葬儀屋, Sōgiya), or the Undertaker (アンダーテイカー, Andāteikā), is a professional involved in the business of funeral rites. These tasks often entail the embalming and burial or cremation of the dead, as well as the planning and arrangement of the actual funeral ceremony. At times, they may also be asked to perform tasks such as dressing the human body in suitable clothes, placing it in a container, and applying any sort of cosmetic substance to the viewable areas of the person for the purpose of enhancing appearances.[3]
