The player controls either Ciel Phantomhive or Sebastian Michaelis in an choose-your-own adventure-esque game, where players can choose from various dialogue options throughout the game. It is the player's job to solve puzzles and mini-games in the adventure mode to gain special items.[1]
The story is original and takes place between Chapter 13 and Chapter 14. The basic plot is that the Phantomhives are sent to the haunted Brighton mansion by Queen Victoria because of the recent sightings of ghosts on the property, which she would like him to resolve.[2] Manga creator Yana Toboso oversaw the story and created new characters for the game.[3]
Two versions were sold including a regular version and a limited first-press edition with numerous extra goods. Those goods included a DS jacket drawn by Yana Toboso, Phantomhive crest signet ring, Phantomhive stationary set, stick of Phantomhive signet ring wax, and a Phantomhive cellphone cleaner strap.
