Scotland Yard is often used as a metonym for the Metropolitan Police Service of London, England.[1] Despite sharing the responsibility of protecting the Royal Family with the Phantomhives, they stand on opposite ends of the spectrum; the Scotland Yard members view the Phantomhive's actions as iniquitous and the latter finds the Yards relatively useless.[2][3]

The Scotland Yard holds significant national responsibilities in administrating the terrorism matters such as the Jack the Ripper and Anglo-Indians case.[4] They are also to protect the British Royal Family and to deliver the bribe money to Ciel Phantomhive as compensation for his work as Queen Victoria's watch dog.[5]
